So, I am currently going through the Beth Moore study at Fairway called "Believing in God." I have had many family members ask how we can truly know that Jesus is alive and how it is possible to believe in something you can not see. Let's take a look at the MIRACLE of childbirth. (it is a miracle-not science or biology, a true miracle).
When you look at the MIRACLE of childbirth, there are so many factors to consider.
1) It takes a man and a woman that are both able to conceive. Some people never find either and some never find a partner period. I find that James finding me is the first miracle in this whole process.
2) It takes one sperm to pick one egg to fertilize. Just think about how many thousands-no millions-of tiny sperm die in the process. What scientific fact is there that can tell me why that ONE sperm picked that ONE egg? There is no explanation.
3) The baby grows inside of the woman for ten months. Some babies do not make it past eight weeks and some do not make it through birth.
4) Labor induction: it is once again a God thing and is unexplainable why labor starts when it does. The baby basically sends a chemical message out saying "get me out of here" and the mom's body picks up on it and BAM: labor begins.
5) The last and final miracle of it all. How did the baby's head not harden with the rest of the bones? It did this so it could fit through the birth canal. Just watch or view pictures of a baby going through the birth canal and you will see how truly miraculous it is that it knows just how to place his head and turn it's shoulders to exit the mom's body and enter the world.
Pastor Brett has been constantly challenging us each week with more and more powerful messages. One thing that sticks out in mind is how statement of "How many people in your life do you know are going to Hell because they do not know Jesus?" It is a tough question to look at, but if I believe in the Bible, I have to also believe that what it says is true: there is no other way to Heaven or to God, but through JESUS, His son.
I have made it a new mission of mine to constantly pray and minister to those around me who I love and care for. I know there are some that this may drive crazy, but I will continue to show you the love that I know until the day that I die knowing that I did all I could do to bring you back to Christ.
AMEN.
